A select few of my pieces include a short 500+/- word story ... check out The Tuesday Tales for more on this!
Put me away with an unlimited supply of fabric and thread and throw in a sewing machine and I would be happy for the rest of my days! I have been manipulating--stretching, scraping, tearing, cutting, fraying, burning--fabrics to create fabric art for over 30 years.
I have stitched rusty old cars, landscapes around the world, houses, abstracts, streetscapes, fruit, flowers and even a kitchen sink! Most recently, Matilda marched into my sewing room and declared herself to be a worthy, wise and most entertaining muse. She is as 'real' as the fabric she is made of and lives large in my imagination. She has acquired quite a following and even has her very own calendar ... along with her two pals, Clarence, the crow and That Cat, the ... er, cat of course!
All my work consists of fabric collage rendered with freemotion machine embroidery.
